Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd, referred to as “the Company,” issues a comprehensive disclaimer regarding the sale of timber flooring, decking, cladding, engineered flooring, lining boards, and related products:

Warranties and Conditions:
Customers are hereby notified that warranties may be invalidated if damages occur due to factors such as improper installation, exposure to extreme weather conditions, alterations, usage of non-approved cleaning agents, failure to follow the installation instructions and guidelines provided by Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd, and lack of adherence to maintenance practices, including maintaining uniform moisture content.

Assessment Process:
In the event of a warranty claim, the Company will conduct a thorough assessment, considering adherence to installation guidelines, environmental conditions, compatibility with other materials, maintenance practices, and ensuring uniform moisture content. Customers must strictly comply with all provided instructions for installation, usage, and ongoing maintenance to remain eligible for warranty claims.

Limitation of Liability:
Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd’s liability is restricted to repair, replacement, or refund, with no obligation for the return of the product. This limitation extends to situations where products have been installed, altered, or used in part. Customers acknowledge that complete return may not be practical due to the nature of timber, and the Company is not responsible for any damages resulting from the inability to return the product.

Non-Returnable Situations:
Products may be deemed non-returnable in the following situations:

  1. Installation: Once the product is installed, partially or fully, it is considered accepted, and return is not applicable.
  2. Alterations: Products that have been altered or modified without the express written consent of Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd are not eligible for return.
  3. Compatibility Issues: The Company is not responsible for compatibility issues with other materials used in conjunction with its products.
  4. Non-compliance with Guidelines: Products that have not been installed, used, or maintained in strict accordance with the provided guidelines are not eligible for return.
  5. Lack of Uniform Moisture Content: Warranties may be affected if the moisture content of the product is not maintained uniformly according to the provided guidelines.

Return Conditions:
For any returns to be considered, the product must strictly be in the exact same condition as it was provided, ensuring no alterations, damages, or deviations from the originally supplied state.

In the context of the above policy, “extreme weather conditions” refer to environmental circumstances that deviate significantly from the standard or expected climate in the geographical region where the timber products are installed. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Temperature Extremes: Exposure to excessively high or low temperatures outside the recommended range for the specific timber product.
  2. Humidity Variations: Extended periods of unusually high or low humidity levels that exceed the recommended thresholds for the product.
  3. Excessive Moisture Exposure: Continuous or severe exposure to water, rain, or flooding that goes beyond the specified tolerance levels outlined in the product guidelines.
  4. Harsh Weather Events: Damage resulting from extreme weather events such as hurricanes, tornadoes, hailstorms, or similar natural disasters.

It is imperative for customers to consider the local climate and adhere to the recommended environmental conditions provided by Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd to ensure the longevity and performance of the timber products. Failure to protect the products from extreme weather conditions may impact the validity of warranties and limit the Company’s liability.

Timber, being a natural product, is subject to inherent variations in colour, grain, texture, and other characteristics. While Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd endeavors to supply timber products within specified standards, the nature of timber as a natural material means that certain variations are to be expected. Therefore, the Company provides the following explanation regarding the limited warranty coverage for timber products:

  1. Natural Variations: Timber is inherently variable due to factors such as growth conditions, age, and species. Natural variations in colour, grain patterns, knots, and texture are part of the unique character of timber and are not considered defects.
  2. Environmental Influence: The appearance of timber can be influenced by environmental conditions, such as exposure to light and air. Over time, timber may undergo changes in colour or surface characteristics as a natural response to its surroundings.
  3. Moisture Content: Timber is sensitive to changes in moisture content. While the Company ensures that products are supplied within specified moisture content standards, variations may occur after installation due to environmental factors. Customers are responsible for maintaining proper environmental conditions to mitigate potential changes.
  4. Limited Warranty: The limited warranty provided by Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd covers defects arising from the manufacturing process, but it does not extend to variations inherent in natural timber. The warranty is contingent upon proper installation, maintenance, and adherence to guidelines outlined by the Company.

Customers are encouraged to carefully inspect the timber products upon receipt and communicate with Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd about any concerns. It is essential to understand and appreciate the unique qualities of natural timber, recognizing that these characteristics contribute to the beauty and individuality of the material. The limited warranty is designed to address manufacturing defects and deviations from specified standards but does not encompass the inherent variations that are intrinsic to the natural properties of timber.

Customers acknowledge that non-compliance with maintenance instructions, including maintaining uniform moisture content, will impact the validity of warranties, releasing Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd from any liability associated with such non-compliance.
By engaging in a transaction with Nationwide Timber Pty Ltd, customers accept and agree to the terms outlined in this disclaimer. The Company reserves the right to update or modify these terms as necessary.
