Blackbutt is an Aussie standard, and one of our most popular timber species – ideal for indoor use and great for staining to the kind of finish you want.

Blackbutt – which gets its name from the dark coloured base of the trunk – works well in any parquetry style.

Whether you’re considering a traditional herringbone look or something like Square on Square, the versatility of blackbutt means you can be sure of a fine finish and result.

Blackbutt often works best when you’re looking to compliment a lighter, more neutral palate in your space.

Blackbutt Parquetry Flooring – Engineered Pre-Finished

Our eco-friendly blackbutt engineered parquetry is durable and easy to maintain.

It’s made using a low shrinkage Hevea core, topped by a blackbutt hardwood lamella.

You get a stylish finish that resembles an oiled floor from an environmentally friendly six coat system that’s more durable because of the increased UV protection.

It looks and feels just fantastic.

The Janka Ratings you see on this website refer to how "hard" a timber is. The harder the timber, the higher the rating. So a timber with a rating of 15 is very different in strength to the softest timber we sell, which has a rating of 3.
