Blackbutt Cladding

Blackbutt is a species that grows along the coast of New South Wales and Southern Queensland. The common name is derived from the distinctive black, charcoal look that is only on the base of the trunk. The timber is renowned for both its strength and versatility of application. Blackbutt is a straight grained timber, with a warm nutty hue which will compliment a range of interior designs where a lighter neutral palette is required.

New England Blackbutt Cladding

New England Blackbutt is a large hardwood that populates the coastal ranges and tablelands of Northern New South Wales. New England Blackbutt is a straight grained timber, with a warm nutty hue which will complement a range of interior designs where a lighter neutral palette is required New England Blackbutt is very similar to Blackbutt (E. pilularis) in general appearance and mechanical properties.

Ironbark offers a large variety of colour from dark chocolate to nutty honey with some dark reddish brown. Ironbark has an interesting tight cathedral grain pattern. Recognized as one of the hardest and most durable hardwoods available in the world, Ironbark is an extremely hardwearing timber that makes it perfect for external or internal applications

Spotted Gum Cladding

Spotted Gum is a highly popular choice as it is mixed with a variance of colours. NSW Spotted Gum is known for its lighter colours and shades whilst showing back-sawn grain. It is easy to see why this would be the first choice for not only its look but also for its hardness and durability. Spotted gum is a large native hardwood that is grown in a variety of forest types along the NSW coastal strip into Queensland. The word “spotted” refers to large spot like features that form on the tree as it sheds its bark in strips.

• FEATURE CLADDING

A timber that contains boards with similar features to Medium Feature Standard Grade but where the length of features such as gum veins may be longer and past borer activity may be more frequent. Depending on the species, features will vary and in some instances boards meeting high feature grade may only appear moderately featured.

The Janka Ratings you see on this website refer to how "hard" a timber is. The harder the timber, the higher the rating. So a timber with a rating of 15 is very different in strength to the softest timber we sell, which has a rating of 3.
